Regional Gathering for PAM

Pres­by­ter­ian Asso­ci­a­tion of Musi­cians’ Regional Gath­er­ing, which will take place Feb­ru­ary 25 at West­min­ster Pres­by­ter­ian Church in Greenville, SC.

Here is what is on tap:

With the con­clud­ing meet­ing of the Pres­by­ter­ian Com­mit­tee on Con­gre­ga­tional Song this week (Jan 9–13), there will be quite a bit of infor­ma­tion to share from Meg Flan­na­gan, hym­nal advo­cate from PPC, and Char­lie Frost, PCOCS mem­ber.  Two ses­sions are ded­i­cated to “Glory to God”, the new resource.

The search for reper­toire is never end­ing.  A choral read­ing ses­sion will pro­vide a closer glimpse at new titles from the PAM Choral series as well as other emerg­ing works from var­i­ous publishers.

Resources– Pub­lish­ers are quick to adver­tise their lat­est prod­ucts, but it is more dif­fi­cult to find resources with proven effec­tive­ness in the local church.  We invite you to bring one of your resources, ideas, anthems, or writ­ings that you find valu­able.  In an infor­mal time of fel­low­ship and shar­ing, you will have an oppor­tu­nity to see what oth­ers are doing and to share your ideas.  You are a valu­able resource to PAM and other musicians.

Hymn Fes­ti­val– Char­lie Frost, Music Direc­tor of  Sea Island Pres­by­ter­ian Church in Beau­fort, SC, and mem­ber of the PCOCS, will lead us in a clos­ing hymn fes­ti­val that includes both new and proven music to be included in “Glory to God”.

Gath­er­ing begins at 9:00 am on Sat­ur­day, Feb 25, with the first ses­sion start­ing at 9:30.  For those that arrive in town Fri­day evening, the PCOCS will be host­ing a time of fel­low­ship at an area estab­lish­ment.  More infor­ma­tion will be sent to registrants.
