Evangelism & Church Growth Conference

This con­fer­ence will be held on July 30– August 2, 2012 in St. Pete Beach, Florida.  Five of the min­istries of the Evan­ge­lism and Church Growth area will host their indi­vid­ual con­fer­ences, while shar­ing group meals, wor­ship, and ple­nary speak­ers with the other conferences.

The five con­fer­ences include:

  3. Church Trans­for­ma­tion Conference
  4. Evan­ge­lism Conference
  5. New Church Devel­op­ment Conference

Ple­nary Speakers

7/30 — Mark Yaconelli is a writer, speaker, retreat leader, spir­i­tual direc­tor, com­mu­nity activist, youth worker and sto­ry­teller.  He is the pro­gram direc­tor for the Cen­ter for Engaged Com­pas­sion at Clare­ment School of The­ol­ogy and the co=founder of Trip­tykos, a pub­lic action pro­gram of the CEC that heals bro­ken peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ties through con­tem­pla­tion, cre­ativ­ity and com­pas­sion.  Mark spent 20 years work­ing with young peo­ple and the peo­ple who serve them (par­ents, youth work­ers, pas­tors) in con­gre­ga­tional, camp and con­fer­ence settings.

7/30 — Lin­nea Nilsen Cap­shaw has for the past decade served as coach, facil­i­ta­tor, con­sul­tant and trainer, assist­ing faith com­mu­ni­ties to dis­cern and live out their mis­sions.  She accom­plishes her goals through a process of assess­ment, vision­ing, plan­ning, train­ing and imple­men­ta­tion of lead­er­ship and orga­ni­za­tional strate­gies.  She is found­ing part­ner of Deep Shift and is an asso­ciate with Easum, Brandy and Asso­ciate, which facil­i­tates com­pre­hen­sive church assessments.

8/1 — Len Sweet is the author of more than 200 arti­cles, 1000 pub­lished ser­mons and almost 50 books, most recently the best-seller Jesus Man­i­festo, with Frank Viola (Thomas Nel­son, 2010), and Nudge: Awak­en­ing Each Other to the God Who Is Already There (David C. Cook, 2010).  Len often appears on The Church Report’s list of “The 50 Most Influ­en­tial Chris­tians in America”.

8/2 — Jo Sax­ton is the direc­tor of 3DM, a movement/organization help­ing church lead­ers make dis­ci­ple­ship and mis­sion the heart­beat of the local church.  Before mov­ing to the U.S., she was a youth pas­tor and later a col­lege pas­tor at St. Thomas Crookes in Sheffield, U.K.  Her first book is called Real God, Real Life (Hod­der Reli­gious, 2010).
